There are numerous cities that can be found in Netherlands. Each city has its own identity and caters something different for both locals of Netherlands as well as foreign visitors. But each city has one thing in common – the hospitable locals that would welcome you with big smiles. There is no need to browse confusing maps or translate unfamiliar signs. You simply ask them as to where the most visited sites are located in their city. They can take you to the most popular museums as well as the best bars in town.

Probably the most well-known region in Netherlands is Holland. In here, you do several activities such as biking, hiking, catamaran sailing, offshore fishing, kite surfing, and more. Not only that adventure-seeking adults may enjoy Holland. Both children and adults may be fascinated by the fireworks display in Holland happening every year. For 2008, fireworks display will happen on August 14 until August 16. Find a great spot on the outdoor areas such as cafes and beaches in Scheveningen. This year’s International Fireworks Festival Scheveningen will be judged according to the originality, composition, as well as the vividness of colors.

If you are travelling with children, you might as well visit the different attractions in Amsterdam where the young and those who are young at heart may enjoy. Bring out the kid in you as you and your family roam around Apenhaul and get close to the monkeys roaming freely in the park’s woods. Hiking is also one of the activities in Apenhaul since there are trails among the trees of the park. Another site that the whole family would love is the Arsenal Vlissingen located in Amsterdam as well. In here, you will get to see some marine and wildlife species that came from the North Sea. The three main attractions in Arsenal Vlissingen are the Piratenspeeleiland or the Pirate Island, the Papegaaieneiland or the Parrot Island, and the Naar de haaien and Kraaiennest also known as the Crow’s Nest.

Those who love to look at the collections of art, history, and culture may also enjoy Netherlands. There are several museums that can be visited either for free or with charge here in Netherlands. The most visited is the museum of the famous painter named Vincent Van Gogh. There are at least six hundred drawings and no less than two hundred paintings that are displayed in this museum.
