Warszawa
Land of Beautifully, Detailed Architecture
Warsaw is the largest of Polish cities in the country and to some, it is known as the “phoenix city.” The young, modernized city has seen so much death and fighting in the past. It has even been given an award, the highest military decoration specifically—the Order Virtuti Militari for cities with heroic defense—for the people’s admirable courage to defend themselves from the enemy in the year 1939.
The city is rich with beautiful architecture. Its churches, mansions and palaces are characterized by color and intricate architectural details. You can find every kind of European architecture style of every historical period of Europe in Warsaw (Poland). There are the gothic-styled buildings and then there are those that are from the renaissance era. Others are then from the baroque and the neoclassical periods. These artistic architectures are only a walk away from the center of the town. This makes looking at them convenient for the tourists.

Most churches in the city are of the gothic architectural style. One of these is the famous tourist hotspot, St. John’s Cathedral which has been said to have been applied the Masovian gothic style. While St. John’s Cathedral exemplifies the Masovial gothic style, the Barczyco house is said to have come from that of the Renaissance era due to how it looks, its architectural style rather. Old town’s Jesuit church is one of those with the mannerist architecture style which many find interesting. And for the early baroque, one known for it is the St. Hyacinth’s Church. And then there are more, including that of the architecture style of the neoclassical period.
Warsaw is blessed with abundant flora and fauna. The city have approximately 82 parks, the oldest include the Saxon Park, Wilanow Palace Park and the Royal Baths Park among others. Some spaces separating one house from another somehow also manage to have greens growing in them though in the city.

The city is rich in tradition as well. One notable event celebrated yearly is the Drowning of the Witch, Marzanna. The ritual is of pagan roots and may pique the interest of those who are inclined to that kind of living.
Warsaw’s nightlife is considered the best in Europe. If you want to mix and mingle, meet new people and party the night away, this is the best place to be.
